On April 25, the Reframing Neglect: Africa Tour opened at the Modern Art Museum / Gebre Kristos Desta Center — a powerful gathering at the intersection of art and advocacy.

Curated by Aïda Muluneh and presented by The END Fund, with support from The Mohamed Bin Zayed Foundation for Humanity, the exhibition features 54 impactful works by Muluneh and six acclaimed African photographers. Together, these voices confront the realities of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) across the continent.

We were deeply honored to have all the exhibiting artists present at the opening — a rare and meaningful moment shared by Aïda Muluneh, Sarah Waiswa, Meseret Argaw, Ala Kheir, Omoregie Osakpolor, Mustafa Saeed, and John Kalapo, alongside The END Fund team, distinguished guests, and partners.

Leading up to the opening, a four-day photography workshop on narrative storytelling was held at the Goeth Institute at Addis Ababa University, offering an intimate space for learning and creative exchange. The program also included a screening of The Fly Collectors by Jeff Arak, followed by a powerful panel discussion on Art & Advocacy, drawing in voices at the heart of art and activism.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable week. Reframing Neglect continues its journey — using the power of visual storytelling to shift perspectives and spark action.
